Seriously hanging around delhi during those hours was the scariest experience ever. Walking past through a sea of unsavory indian cab drivers grabbing at me and yelling things at me in the dark, I seriously almost shat myself. Military guys with guns walking around everywhere, cars honking and people yelling in the background every which way, I seriously dunno how I'm gonna go back there next month and spend a whole week by myself. i dunno if its because of slumdogs or because of puneets horror stories or because i just finished reading kite runner, whatever the reason, im so freaking scared of people in that region. anyhow after i survived delhi and landed in nepal (seriously, they're kathmandu airport - prolly theyre biggest in the country - is this little ass dinky red bricked building about half the size of long beach airport), taxi-ing through the city to get to where im staying was freaking surreal. the dilapitated buildings, old ladies carrying twigs on their backs, motorcycles and rickshaws whizzing by with absolutely no regards to any form of traffic rules - ive definitely had multiple 'wut the hell am i doing' moments in the past 24 hours. but once i finally got here, things looked up a little. the program director seems like a genuinely good guy and it looks like im basically gonna be staying in a small orphanage type house - the six kids here are so well behaved and they are just so so precious. they grabbed my hands the minute i came in and dragged me around to play with them. whenever im not working at the hospital ill be spending a lot of time here with them so im really excited about that. ok i actually have to wrap it up now the electricity is about to go out (the entire country only gets 8 hours of electricity every day, during set times) - ill try to send some more updates and pictures in the next few days. miss you all jeff
